Professional Biography:
Francis J. D’Addario, CFE CPP
Francis D’Addario is a Principal of Crime Prevention Associates, an all hazards security risk and mitigation consultancy founded in 1985. He served as the vice president of Partner and Asset Protection for the Starbucks Coffee Company (1997-2009); Director of Loss Prevention for Hardees Food Systems (1990-1997) , Director of Security for Jerrico Inc. (1981-1990), and as a Regions Manager for the Southland Corporation (1978-1981) where his teams endeavored to "protect people, secure assets, contribute margin" for global markets. They are credited with benchmarked results for crime prevention, profit contribution, professional engagement, and violence avoidance. Francis has more than twenty five years in public safety and strategic security management. He is a Certified Protection Professional, Fraud Examiner, Community Emergency Responder, Food Defense Coordinator and Coffee Master.
His publications include Loss Prevention through Crime Analysis (Butterworth’s 1989) and The Managers Violence Survival Guide (CPA 1995). He designed LossVision™, a copyrighted loss reporting, investigations, and asset recovery software program; and Safe and Sound™, an interactive ‘workplace violence’ training curriculum marketed by Learning Dynamics. He co-chaired the business committee for ‘Three Projects/One Community’ a $29 million capital campaign to provide West Seattle with permanently affordable facilities for food, social services, low income housing, and the arts.
Francis is a Senior Advisor for the Security Executive Council. He contributed as a project team member to ISO 28001 an International Standardization Organization (ISO) supply chain security standard. He is the recipient of recognitions including the CSO Magazine 2007 Compass for protection innovation, the National Food Service Security Council’s Lifetime Achievement and the Spirit of Starbucks awards. Dean Correia, CPP
Dean Correia is the founder of Correia Security Resources, a Canadian company that specializes in customized security training workshops and services for businesses and schools. Dean has had a career in operations and loss prevention in Canada spanning more than 20 years, holding senior leadership roles with global brands GAP, Starbucks Coffee, and Wal-Mart. Dean is skilled at influencing stakeholders to embed an enduring legacy through process improvements and the creation of sustainable programs that contribute profit and add value through the protection of people and securing of assets.
Dean is a Certified Protection Professional and Licensed Private Investigator whose other certifications include Handwriting Analysis, Interview/Interrogation, and Executive Protection. An experienced workshop facilitator and passionate public speaker globally, Dean is an active member of the Canadian Society of Training and Development. Dean is an Emeritus Faculty member of the Security Executive Council, the leading strategy, insight and resource provider for risk mitigation decision makers founded in 2005 and a Senior Consultant with Learning Dynamics, whose mission is to create customized training programs in order to help organizations meet their objectives more effectively. Dean served a 3 year term on the Board of the US based National Food Safety Security Council and has been an engaged member of the Retail Council of Canada for more than a decade, having led the national Loss Prevention conferences for both of these organizations in 2006 and 2008 respectively.
Some of Dean’s career highlights include successfully leading Wal-Mart Canada’s security event planning for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and the G8/G20 summit. Dean spearheaded the creation of Business Continuity and Crisis Management plans for Wal-Mart Canada and Wal-Mart Canada Bank. At both Wal-Mart Canada and Starbucks Coffee, he played a key role in the creation, development, and implementation of auditing and investigative programs that delivered millions of dollars to the bottom line.
Dean’s publications include the February 2007 and September/October 2008 editions of Canadian Retailer magazine. In 2001, Dean was awarded the Spirit of Starbucks for his impact on the business in the U.S. and Canada.

Patrick J. Gerstle
Patrick Gerstle is the Senior Technical Advisor for Crime Prevention Associates, an all hazards security risk and mitigation consultancy founded in 1985. He is the author of LossVision, the loss tracking and reporting database system offered through Crime Prevention Associates. He also served in numerous capacities for 30 years in both electrical and software engineering with the IBM Corporation.
His publications include technical articles in the C++ Newsletter and in the Developer Connection News.

Professional Biography:
Marc E. Osborn
Marc was an account executive with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, developing and servicing new accounts. He is trained in customer oriented financial planning and sales techniques including public speaking, prospecting, marketing, client development and closing (1994 - 1996). He also served as Financial/Operations Manager: directing financial and operating controls for company investing and rehabilitating commercial real estate, and negotiating new and existing commercial leases and vendor/supplier contracts, JDM Associates, (1988 - 1992).
Marc was a member of the Chicago Board of Trade, commodities trader (local): he traded actively and successfully in the markets for 8 years.
As an accountant with Price Waterhouse & Co, he audited the financial statements of a wide variety of clients (retail, insurance, grocery, high-technology, mining, communication and financial institutions). Evaluated internal controls, discovered material errors, and worked to ensure error-free audits.
