About The Author
Francis D’Addario is a principal of Crime Prevention Associates and Emeritus Faculty member of the Security Executive Council. His security teams have set private sector benchmarks for violence reductions, profit margin contribution, and engagement at Starbucks Coffee, Hardees Food Systems, Jerrico Inc. and the Southland Corporation. Francis has more than twenty five years in public safety and corporate security management. He is a Certified Protection Professional, Fraud Examiner, Community Emergency Responder, Food Defense Coordinator, and Coffee Master.
In addition to Not a Moment to Lose..Influencing Global Security One Moment at a Time (Security Executive Council 2009) his other publications include Loss Prevention through Crime Analysis (Butterworths 1989) and The Managers Violence Survival Guide (CPA 1995). D’Addario also co-designed LossVision™, a copyrighted loss reporting, investigations, and asset recovery software program; and Safe and Sound™, an interactive, multimedia ‘workplace violence avoidance’ training curriculum marketed by Learning Dynamics. As a board member of the West Seattle Food Bank, Francis co-chaired the business committee for "Three Projects/One Community", a $29 million capital campaign to provide West Seattle with permanently affordable facilities for food, social services, low income housing, and the arts. He has served on project teams for the International Standardization Organization (ISO) that drafted ISO 28001, an international supply chain security standard; and the US Department of Justice sponsored SEARCH National Task Force on the Role of Private Sector Use and Management of Justice Information.
Francis is the recipient of the CSO 2007 Compass for protection innovation, the National Food Service Security Council’s Lifetime Achievement, and the Spirit of Starbucks awards. In addition to an undergraduate degree in Police Administration, he has studied Forensic Sciences, Behavioral Interviewing, Handwriting and Written Statement Analysis, Investigative Hypnosis; and graduated from the FBI Citizen’s Academy.
